Missoula and Beyond


We had a wonderful visit with our friends Amy and Ashby Kinch and family in Missoula. Dan went to college with Ashby who he has not since. It was great to see him again. Ashby is a professor of Literature and Associate Dean of the Graduate School at the University of Montana in Missoula. Amy works for a center at the university as well. They opened their house to us and showed us a great day in a fun city. It is a beautiful place to live.

Then they sent us up to their amazing cabin in the Bob Marshall Wilderness about two hours north of Missoula. We spent three nights in absolute beauty along Glacier Creek near Condon and went hiking at Holland Falls. Before we left, Ashby hooked us up with great recommendations of what to do in Glacier N.P., our next stop.

It was nice to reconnect - one of the best parts of this year off - and to see that Ashby has become a true westerner, abandoning his Austin Texas persona for the ruggedness of the Mountain West.
