The visit was too short with our friends, Jamie and Beth Skillen and their sons, Ben and Sam. Dan first met this interesting couple on the Colorado Trail in 1997. Since then, Jamie and Beth have hiked the entire Pacific Crest Trail; managed an outdoor university extension school in Oregon; and raised two great sons. They now live in Grand Rapids, Michigan where Jamie is a professor at Calvin College and Beth is a registered nurse working with hospice and aging care. They are a worldly and caring family. We wish we had more time to spend with them.
