Costa Rica - The joy of children

September 17, 2017

The girls are proving to be resilient and flexible travelers.  On thing (perhaps) we have learned so far is that our children do not seem to be nearly as critical or judgmental as adults.  Where we see a damp and drizzly morning, they see an opportunity to swing on a hammock in the rain and splash in a muddy puddle.  In the center of Tortuguero is an ageing  playground - brightly painted - but rusting with missing monkey bars and swings. Piles of tires used as playthings.   In its midst stood several old rusted pieces of mining and forestry machines that must have been placed there for play many years ago.  They didn't care.  It might as well have been the newest and finest playground in a western suburb.  They had a blast.
